THE Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield has announced it will hold its annual charity event, the Terry Fox Run of Hope this autumn.

On Sunday October 2, the hotel will host the event in support of the Terry Fox Foundation and the Hampshire-based Brain Tumour charity.

The Four Seasons will be teaming up with its sister hotel in London’s Park Lane to raise funds for the charities.

The Terry Fox foundation continues in memory of Terry Fox, a Canadian cancer victim who ran over 3,000 miles in 143 days with a prosthetic limb to raise money for cancer research.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, as a Canadian company, have supported the charity ever since Terry’s death in 1981.

Each run, held in different Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts around the world, splits its proceeds with a local charity of choice.

Visitors of all ages are being invited to run or walk the 5km or 2km routes around the hotel’s estate, Dogmersfield Park, and enjoy a live afternoon of live music, delicious food and recreational activities.

Those who participate can purchase a voucher in return for a Terry Fox or Brain Tumour charity t-shirt and the choice of foods post-run.

The foods on offer include the choice of a hog roast, a classic beef burger or stone oven baked pizza.

The activities available throughout the afternoon will cater for all ages, with attractions such as archery, falconry, pony rides, face painting, a bouncy castle, express manicures and for the thrill seeking participants, the hotel’s exhilarating free-fall experience, the ‘Power Fan’, and zip-line will also be open for guests to enjoy throughout the day in exchange for a minimum donation to the charities.

A raffle and closing ceremony will see the day out, with a complimentary night at the hotel available for those with a raffle ticket, among others.
