A HOOK home has been devastated by a garage fire.

The property in Alder Wood Drive was engulfed in flames when firefighters were called to the property at around 7.50pm on March 24.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the garage and the roof over the porch, with debris littered across the driveway.

Nine pumps and 23 firefighters from Odiham, Hartley Wintney, Basingstoke and Rushmoor fire stations attended. They spent almost three hours putting the blaze out.

Bryce Allcorn, the crew manager at Rushmoor fire station, said that the garage fire spread to the roof space. He confirmed that no one was inside the detached house at the time, and no one was injured in the incident.

As can be seen from the picture there is damage to the property’s upper exterior, with guttering melting away and windows and frames burnt out.

Firefighters stayed at the scene overnight into the early hours of Friday morning. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
