A proposal to build 110 homes on a 4.35-hectare greenfield site off Brislands Lane in Four Marks is causing a big row.
In a village that has suffered a 25 per cent increase in housing stock over the last eight years, the proposal by Charles Church South Coast (aka Persimmon Homes) to up the number of homes on the site from 90 to 110, is seen as "gross over-development".
Linked to the new 174-home Barratt development, as well as in-fill along the A31 and in neighbouring South Medstead, it is, some feel, too big an ask on a community already struggling to accommodate a disproportionate and too rapid an amount of growth
