A PLAN to build four semi-detached dwellings next to The Royal Exchange in Lindford could lead to parking problems and the pub's closure, it is feared.

Lindford Parish Council turned down the application the scheme at its meeting on August 1.

Parish council chairman Ian Skelton-Smith said: "We feel it will prejudice the viability of the pub."

"We as a parish council don't want to see it go."

He went on to outline the council's concerns for what is a "prominent" and historic building in the village.
