WILDLIFE enthusiasts took part in this year’s Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Big Garden Birdwatch over the weekend by counting how many species they spotted in an hour.

The results nationally will help highlight which birds are doing well and which need help. More than 70 supporters dropped into Haslemere Museum’s Big Garden Bird Watch on Saturday, making bird cakes and getting hands on with themed arts and crafts activities.

Spokeswoman Caroline White said: “It is events like these which bring the museum to the attention of new visitors, who we hope will return again.”
