PEOPLE are being asked for their views on how much money developers should contribute towards improving roads, schools and other vital infrastructure.

A public consultation is under way for the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) preliminary draft charging schedule. CIL allows councils to raise funds from developers to fund infrastructure needed across the borough, as a result of development.

The financial contributions secured can be used towards improvements to roads, schools, parks, playgrounds and other community facilities.

The six-week consultation that started on the June 19, asks residents, developers and other interested parties what they think about the preliminary draft charging schedule.  `

There are a number of ways to take part in the consultation, online at www.waverley.gov.uk/CIL or by emailing comments to [email protected].

The consultation document is also available at the Waverley Borough Council offices in Godalming, and at locality offices and public libraries within the borough.

The deadline for responses is Monday, July 31.
