THE funeral of a "vivacious young woman" saw hundreds turn up to pay their final respects at Aldershot crematorium last Friday. Around 300 mourners were in attendance of the funeral of Robyn-Ellen France, 18, which saw old friends, fellow students, former teachers and headmasters bid farewell. A Harley Davidson tricycle-drawn hearse took her coffin through the streets to the service. Her Mother, Laurie France, knew what her "beautiful girl" would have thought of the ceremony. She said: "She would have absolutely adored it, she had always wanted to ride a Harley Davidson and we promised her she could ride a Harley the next time we went to America. "We have been going there for the past five years but she has always been too young to ride". The service was "typically Robyn-Ellen" as her coffin was coated in her favourite colour, lilac, and the coffin had a design on its lid to replicate a tattoo which Robyn-Ellen had recently had done. Her sister Stephanie, 20, took the design to London so that the necessary work could be done. Robyn-Ellen died from the serious injuries she suffered following a three-way car crash on April 5. The tragedy happened when she was driving along the B3004 at Passfield at the junction with Hollywater Road. She was taken to Royal Surrey County Hospital but died from her injuries the following day with her family at her bedside. Mrs France added: "There were just so many people who were touched by her. When we arrived at the church it was like 'wow!' - there were just so many people who wanted to say goodbye. "She was so sweet, she just sparkled. She had a hug and a smile for everyone. She was just beautiful." Further to her death, scores of tributes have been left at the crash site and letters to the family have also been coming in. Laurie France added: "I had a letter arrive from a student friend of Robyn's, it just said how much she effervesced, even on bad days that is how she would be". Mrs France and her family wanted to thank their local funeral directors for arranging such an appropriate hearse for the occasion. It was their hard work which meant they were able to find the Harley on the internet. An inquest into Robyn-Ellen's death will take place in June.
