NEARLY 400 runners of all ages took part in the annual Alice Holt Forest races on September 23, organised by Farnham Runners and supported by Andrew Lodge Estate Agents.

The day involved an exciting 1k Fun Run for juniors aged five to eight, along with a 3k for those aged nine to 12.

There was also a challenging 5k and 10k course that many adults took part in. The weather was warm and dry for the entire event, making the conditions ideal for the participants.

For the fifth year Andrew Lodge Estate Agents were proud sponsors and the team from the firm’s Farnham office enjoyed cheering the runners on at the start and finish point on the day.

They handed out balloons to the younger participants and met with organisers and runners. Andrew Lodge, managing director, presented the results for the 5km and 10km and awarded winners medals.

Grant Walters, director at Andrew Lodge Estate Agents, said: “There was a great atmosphere at the races and it was brilliant to see so many families, running groups and clubs taking part.

“We support the event year-on-year as it such a great family friendly event and it encourages our local community to get active and enjoy our countryside. It was so well organised and everyone involved had a fantastic time.”

Claire Allaker, who represented Andrew Lodge in the 10km, added: “The course was challenging, but it was fantastic to race around the woodland trails and to take in the scenery at Alice Holt Forest.

“The event was well organised by Farnham Runners and the marshals provided support and encouragement along the way. The races were great and it made a fun day out. I really recommend this event to anyone who likes a woodland run, it is one of the best.”

Race director Craig Tate-Grimes worked tirelessly over many months to organise the event, along with the invaluable support of a large number of Farnham Runners members and supporters.
