The visit to the Chapel Street restaurant was a treat as pupils are currently learning about the culture and geography of the Mediterranean country.
And pupils got the chance to create their own culinary masterpiece after learning about the origins of the margherita pizza and why basil often features in Italian cooking.
Their mouth-watering efforts were cooked in a traditional oven before they were boxed up and taken back to the village school for lunch.
