JEREMY Hunt has cancelled an appearance at the St George’s Church climate change meeting in Farnham this weekend due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
However, the event will still be going ahead in Mr Hunt’s absence on Saturday, March 12, from 9.30am at St George’s Church in Badshot Lea, with constituents meeting to network and formulate environmental questions to ask the MP for South West Surrey.
Reverend Lesley Crawley, who is a local vicar and also the environmental advisor for the Diocese of Guildford, said: “Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Jeremy is unable to join us on that day.
“However, we plan to meet with Jeremy on another occasion when we will present him with our core environmental concerns and look forward to having a focused meeting on an important issue.”
It comes after the MP was ambushed at Haslewey community centre in Haslemere last Friday by a bugler from the Channel 4 satirical chat show The Last Leg protesting against his stance on the NHS junior doctors contract.
