A UNIQUE document which is said to be the "most important piece of work" ever undertaken in Petersfield is set for approval next week.

Modifications to the draft Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan are expected to be given the green light by town councillors at a meeting on December 18 in the council chamber of Petersfield Festival Hall, on Heath Road, at 6.30pm.

The importance of the draft Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan when it is finally adopted next year has been highlighted by town council clerk Neil Hitch.

Mr Hitch, who introduced the original idea to the council more than three years ago, said the completed plan is set to have "a potential long-term impact on the town, the way it looks and the facilities that may or may not be provided over the next 15 years".
