A CONTROVERSIAL bid to increase the number of flights from a Hampshire airfield could lead to a "dangerous" situation in the skies above Petersfield. That's the verdict of town mayor Peter Marshall, who believes that bosses at TAG Farnborough need to be brought down to earth with their plans to expand. The high-flying councillor has serious concerns about a proposal by the Rushmoor airport to increase the amount of airspace it controls. Studies completed by Lasham Airfield show the changes would have serious impacts on noise levels across East Hampshire and the Rother Valley. They estimate that between 15 and 23 planes, flying at just 3,000 feet, would pass every day over the likes of Liss, Rogate and Greatham by the year 2019.
