A POSTER campaign has been initiated by Winchester Police, to appeal for witnesses to the indecent assault of two 11-year-old girls in Alresford at the end of June.

The girls were assaulted in Jacklyn's Lane on Thursday June 28, as they rode their micro-scooters home from Alresford town centre after running errands.

Police hope that the posters will jog the memories of residents who may recognise the description of the offender.

He is described as in his mid-20s to mid-30s, of slim build with dark, greasy, combed back collar-length hair. He has a tanned but pitted or scarred face, and was wearing dark trousers and a blue top.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Winchester Police on 0845 045 45 45, or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
