DISTRICT councillor Angela Glass alerted Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council to the forthcoming change in developers’ contributions, as the current S106 agreement will end at the end of this month.
East Hampshire District Council has approved the proposed community infrastructure levy at a full council meting in February, which will be adopted from April 8 for all planning applications determined after that date.
Mrs Glass stressed the importance of a meeting between district council officers and parish chairman Michael Croucher to discuss existing contributions currently available and any future contributions which may be sought before the end of March.
Mrs Glass said. “The revised application for an additional 175 houses on the Lowsley Farm site, off Longmoor Road, will be considered by EHDC’s planning committee on March 31, which, if approved, could generate more than £500,000 in developers’ contributions.
“The parish council urgently needs to identify specific community, recreational and transport projects which could be funded by these contributions before the March deadline and put them before EHDC.”
Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council has so far only submitted a “wish list” of projects to the district council.
The phrase “use it or lose it” has been mentioned at several parish council meetings over the past year and now a deadline has been set for specific submissions.
Projects discussed by various committees have included disability access at Liphook railway station and toilets at the recreation ground, as well as an extension to the Millennium Centre.
