THE High Court of Justice has issued an injunction preventing Surrey County Council proceeding with plans to create volunteer-run libraries in 10 communities across Surrey.
The injunction was sought by the Surrey Libraries Action Group to prevent the council going ahead with its plan to set up community-partnered libraries, before a potential Judicial Review.
Although Farnham library is not currently earmarked to be run solely by volunteers, the first round of community-partnered libraries could set a precedent for the rest of the county.
