A CYCLIST hospitalised with facial injuries after a crash in Churt last month is believed to have suffered a “medical episode” that caused him to fall off his bike.

Surrey Police launched an appeal for witnesses to help piece together how the cyclist sustained his injuries following the crash in Green Lane at around 10.35am on Saturday, August 22.

Closing the investigation this week, a spokesman for the force said: “From further enquiries it appears he suffered a medical episode which caused him to fall from his bicycle.”

The cyclist was said to be in a ‘serious condition’ after he was rushed to the Royal Surrey County Hospital on August 22. His current condition was unknown as The Herald went to press.
