A YEAR after a Bordon soldier was killed by a Surrey Police car on the Hog's Back, near Guildford, the case has returned to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) for further investigation.

In August it was announced that the Surrey police officer who hit and killed Joshua Brown on the A31 Hog's Back road, while responding to an emergency call, would not face charges.

Following the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday December 1, 2012, an IPCC investigation was launched and, after collecting evidence, the file was passed onto the Crown Prosecution Service.

However, the Crown Prosecution Service concluded there was "insufficient evidence" to charge the police officer with causing death either by careless or dangerous driving.
