Pupils from year five at Camelsdale Primary School enjoyed a “learning journey” to the Isle of Wight.

The week-long expedition included a stay at PGL Little Canada, where all 31 pupils tried their hand at a wide range of outdoor pursuits.

The trip also included a visit up the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth as well as some geography field work in Yarmouth and a visit to a lifeboat.

Headteacher Sarah Palmer said: “Our week’s residential is a very important part of the learning journey at Camelsdale. Not only do the children challenge themselves physically and mentally, but it also provides a good next step in becoming more independent personally.

“This year, the weather was good and the children had great fun trying their hand at activities not available everyday at school. The children were a real credit to themselves, their families and to the school.”
