STUDENTS and staff from Midhurst Rother College became trainee astronauts for the weekend when they visited the Euro Space Centre, in Belgium.
Activities included rocket launch simulations, taking a turn on the stomach churning multi-axis chair and designing and launching their own rockets.
An undoubted highlight of the weekend was when through the power of technology, students were able to experience first-hand, the wonder of “walking on the moon”.
Year eight student Alice Bowers said: “Space camp has been by far one of the best experiences of my life. It has inspired me to learn more about space and to maybe even become an astronaut one day.
“I just wish I could go back and do it all again.”
Staff leader Kayleigh Axford, said: “Students took every opportunity available to them, engaging in all aspects of space education and exploration.
“It was fantastic to see them all enjoy learning in a really hands-on way.”
The trip also included a late night torch lit tour of Bouillon Castle to learn about the history of the area.
