IT’S all change on Haslemere High Street, with luxury home interiors store India Jane shutting up shop and cosmetics company Space. NK.Apothecary poised to move in.

India Jane’s Haslemere branch was operated as a franchise and the nearest store now is in Farnham. The company, which launched in Hampstead in 1991, has eight stores in the South and more than 300 stockists nationwide.

Cosmetics retailer Space.NK. Apothecary, which launched in Covent Garden in 1993, has 62 outlets in the UK and 23 in the USA.

In addition to its signature body, spa, man and woman collections, it carries more than 60 specialist brands.

Haslemere and District Chamber of Trade president David Goddin said: “It is always sad to see a business closing, especially when it occupies a prominent position – and is a chamber member. However, at a time when many people are worried about the economic impact of Brexit, it is very encouraging to hear another specialist retailer sees good business potential in our town and is moving into the premises.

“A fresh face on the High Street could significantly increase footfall in the town – and that’s good news for all our retailers.”
