A BEER-swigging runner from Farnham has triumphed in the infamous boozy Boxing Day drinking run at the Devil's Punchbowl in Hindhead.

James Clarke, of Farnham Runners, completed the three-and-a-half mile course in 24 minutes 45 seconds having downed the mandatory pint of Hogs Back Brewery ale at the two-mile point.

A record 570 people signed up for the 14th Boxing Day fun run across the Devil's Punchbowl, which included conventional races as well as the ever popular drinking run for both men and women.
