THE Jigsaw Festival organised by St Mary’s Church in Frensham was a “roaring” success raising more than £1,000.

The money raised will help complete the works on the church’s 15th century tower. The event offered a vast range of jigsaws from simple to those only made for the bravest of ‘jigsawers’.

Churchwarden Eunice King, said: “It went remarkably well. People flooded in from near and far - one couple came from Holland (not specifically for the festival, they were just passing on their holidays) and said they’d never seen anything like it.

“We are thrilled that so many people took part, from donating and making up jigsaws to trying and buying. Who would have thought jigsaws could be so popular, everyone had so much fun and we are already planning another one in October by popular demand.”
