TOMMY’S, the miscarriage and stillbirth charity, and Jo Jingles, the children’s music, singing and movement experience, hosted a Jinglethon fundraising event in Farnham last week, supported by children’s food company, Little Dish.

The series of Jinglethon events, taking place across the area at Jo Jingles classes, saw hundreds of local babies and toddlers aged three months to five years saving other babies’ lives by dressing up in fancy dress and being sponsored to participate in a fun musical explorers programme.

Donations raised by the little ones will go to Tommy’s to fund further research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.

Jinglethon hopes to raise £100,000. This could help up to 6,000 families visit Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research, and realise their dream of having a baby.

At present, one in four women in the UK lose a baby during pregnancy or just after birth, and around one in every 27 babies are stillborn per year, equivalent to 10 babies a day. In addition, 684 babies are miscarried a day.

Jane Brewin, chief executive at Tommy’s, said: “Jinglethon is a great way for parents and carers to involve their little ones in a good cause. Tommy’s relies on the generosity and hard work of its supporters like Jo Jingles to continue its pioneering research to prevent pregnancy complications. We’re so grateful to everyone who took part.”
