PEOPLE?living in Tilford have reacted with horror to a planning application to establish a tourism enterprise, with five caravan pitches, four eco-pods and a utility building at Sheephatch Lane. The site, which occupies almost one hectare, adjoins Islamabad, the former Sheephatch School site that has been home to an Ahmadiyya Muslim community for 28 years, and members of the community were among almost 60 people who had objected to the application by Wednesday. The applicant, John Mitchell, wants to change the use of the field site, which is already grazed by one horse, to a small tourism and "potentially linked" equestrian development that could exploit a niche market for people who want to take their horse on holiday.
