THE search is on for an alternative home for BordonÕs Jobcentre Plus.

The news was revealed at MondayÕs Whitehill Town Council meeting when clerk Linda Tiley said that she had met with the districtÕs economic development officer Mike Gibbs to examine alternatives to the building in Chalet Hill which had been earmarked for the Jobcentre.

Different premises are needed because of the announcement last month that Bordon will be receiving a Jobcentre Plus office as a result of the relocation of the existing Jobcentre in Liphook.

The Jobcentre Plus office will offer a mixed job search and benefits advice service, but Òpremises constraintsÓ mean that this could only be a limited service if it opens in Chalet Hill.

The full service could be delivered in Bordon only if suitable alternative premises are identified.
