IT HAS been a long two years since families and visitors were able to relax in the sunshine in Gostrey Meadow and watch the famous Farnham Duck Race.
But it is here again and there are only ten days to go until Saturday, April 30 when this popular event takes place once again.
Gostrey Meadow will be filled with stalls from local charities, as well as those selling food, coffee and much else besides. The racing starts at midday, and that will be the opportunity to cheer on the duck you have backed and, if you are lucky, win a prize. It is a great day out and a chance to get back to those carefree days we miss.
Tickets to back each duck in the race are on sale at £2 each in central Farnham every Saturday during April. The winning duck in each heat will earn the lucky owner £25.
The grand prize for the final winner is £300. So make sure you have all the tickets you need before race day.
The event is organised by Farnham Weyside Rotary Club to raise funds for local charities.
If you are interested in volunteering to help on the day you will be very welcome and assured of an enjoyable time. You can register your interest on the dedicated website, https://fofw.co.uk/
