BRAMSHOTT and Liphook Parish Council said farewell to Karen Feeney, who has been working as events manager at the Millennium Centre for the last 15 months.

Karen (pictured during her farewell) said: “I have really loved working in this role - as well as introducing several new events to the centre.

“But my family really need me at the moment and I had to make the difficult decision to cut back on my working hours.”

The parish council issued a statement saying that they were very sad to be losing Karen from their staff at the end of May.

“Karen has been working at the Millennium Centre on a temporary maternity cover contract for the past 15 months and decided not to re-apply for the permanent role due to family and personal commitments,” a spokesman for the parish council said.

“She has been instrumental in a number of great events held at the Millennium Centre and we are very grateful for all her hard work and dedication. We would like to wish her every success in the future.

“We will be welcoming Gill Snedden to the role very shortly who will be working alongside Caroline Lennox, who will remain on the staff on a part-time basis.”

Karen, who has been the driving force behind the committee that organises Liphook Carnival for more than a decade, helped to introduce the children’s successful monthly roller disco, two popular sell-out film and food evenings, as well as the first ever professional wrestling event to be held at the centre.
