GOALKEEPER Gareth Howells, forced to play second string to Player of the Season Nikki Bull, is leaving Aldershot Town.
Terry Brown is expected to release a few players and the departure of Howells is no real surprise.
As the manager said: "Gareth is 32, an excellent goalkeeper and he obviously wants guaranteed first-team football. I couldn't give him that guarantee, so we agreed that Gareth would leave Aldershot and look for another club where he can carry on his career. He has a huge amount to offer and I'm certain he will be signed by another club very soon."
After coming to Aldershot from Sutton United, Howells established himself as first-choice 'keeper and had an outstanding first season. But the arrival of the exciting prospect, Bull, changed all that and he has made only a handful of appearances in this championship season.
Roscoe D'Sane, another of Aldershot's crown jewels, has again distinguished himself for England's Semi-Pro side.
The striker was selected by manager Paul Fairclough to start the Semi-Pro Four Nations Tournament opener against Republic of Ireland in Merthyr Tydfil on Tuesday night and played a starring role, scoring the first goal and making the third in an emphatic 4-0 victory.
