GREEN-fingered youngsters at South Farnham Infant School helped beautify The Bourne last week ready for Farnham’s Britain In Bloom entry.
Volunteers from the Bourne Beautification Project visited the school to engage year two children in basket planting for its contribution to the nationwide community gardening campaign.
The Bourne Beautification Project has planted up its baskets early this year, and they will now be kept in green houses until frost danger abates.
It is hoped they will be hung in place around The Bourne crossroads and shops area as planned for Saturday, May 28.
Each basket is individually identified by a coloured ribbon, so that the teams of children from South Farnham who planted each basket can identify which one is their’s.
Further baskets will also be hung - as usual - at the Bourne Veterinary Surgery and at The Fox pub.
