SURREY Police are supporting a new national campaign to tackle knife crime and highlight the risks of carrying a knife.
Knife crime in Surrey is low, however carrying a blade is still a reality for some people, especially young people, many of who are unaware of the repercussions.
Get caught with a knife in a public place and you could face a prison sentence of up to five years - hurt someone and you could go to prison for longer.
Amnesty bins will be located in Reigate, Guildford, Woking and Staines police stations, while officers in Surrey will also be carrying out hotspot patrols and arresting outstanding offenders.
