POLICE are appealing for help in their quest to track down a man behind a robbery in Hook.

CCTV footage has been released of a man who made off with £780 from Coral Bookmakers on Station Road.

The offence took place between 9.25pm and 9.35pm on Monday, May 2, when the man, carrying a knife, approached the counter in the bookmakers and demanded money from the 30-year-old shop worker.

After obtaining almost £800, the thief took off on foot in the direction of the Tesco supermarket on the same road.

Detective Constable Mark Ogburn, from Aldershot CID, said: “This is a rare incident to take place in Hook, but I would appeal for anyone who has any information about what happened to contact us as soon as possible.

“Were you in the Station Road area at around this time? Perhaps you were in one of the nearby pubs or restaurants? Did you see a man dressed in black acting suspiciously? If so, please get contact us.”

The man is described as wearing a black Nike hooded top and trousers, balaclava and trainers, and was carrying an orange-coloured bag.
