THE Teenage Cancer Trust has benefited from £5,000 thanks to the hardworking ladies of Blacknest Golf and Country Club.

Ladies’ captain, Maggie Sargeant of Blacknest Ladies Section, presented the cheque of £5,000 to Charlotte Adams, regional fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust.

The generous amount has been raised throughout the year with charity days, ladies’ section events, club events and the successful completion of the Great South Run by Jill Penn, a member of the ladies’ section.

In other news, at the club’s annual general meeting Maggie handed over the captaincy for the coming year to vice-captain Jo Canning.
