VISITORS to the Allen Gallery have until tomorrow to visit the Alton Art Society paint group exhibition.

Entitled ‘Group Retrospective’, the pieces range from naturalistic to abstract and detailed to impressionistic on a wide range of subject matter, from Jimi Hendrix to seascapes, landscapes to still life, and from Chinese ink and brush painting to dancing trees.

The Alton Art Society paint group meets every Thursday afternoon at the Alton Maltings Centre, and this is their first major exhibition at the town’s Allen Gallery.

The month-long run has proved popular and has included demonstrations by members, among them exhibition organiser Kate Davis (pictured), who was there on Wednesday last week to chat to visitors and demonstrate her skill.

‘Group Retrospective’ is open from 10.30am to 4.30pm and entry is free.
