A KEY shopping street in Petersfield has reopened to traffic after a fire broke out above a shop in Lavant Street this morning.
Three fire engines were called to deal with the blaze above The Bran Tub around 8am and Lavant Street was closed to cars.
According to a Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesman, the fire broke out in a first-floor office above the shop which promotes healthy living.
"Fire crews from Petersfield, Havant and Bordon were called to a fire in a commercial premises this morning. When the crews arrived they reported heavy smoke-logging in the building and they used tactical ventilation and cutting away to clear the smoke and tackle the fire," the spokesman said.
"Crews quickly tackled the blaze and minimised the damage to the first floor."
The property was given the all clear around 9.30am.
