PEOPLE interested in becoming a county councillor are being offered the opportunity to learn about the role.

Surrey County Council is running a free session, which will be held at the authority’s headquarters in Kingston, to give people a chance to understand what being a councillor involves, have a tour of the building and know how the process of standing for election works.

The event is due to take place on Tuesday, November 3, between 3pm and 7.30pm.

More information on the events and how to book tickets can be found online at www.eventbrite.co.uk. The next county council election is expected to take place in 2017.
