BADSHOT Lea Football Club has been given Waverley Borough Council's blessing to relocate to the council-owned Westfield Lane ground, which was vacated by Farnham Rugby Club two years ago. The council's executive has agreed to grant a 30-year lease to the club, which has lived a nomadic existence with various groundshare arrangements for the past seven years. The long lease is necessary to demonstrate the financial stability that the club needs to secure grants from outside sources, with £600,000 of capital improvements needed to the decaying clubhouse, poorly drained, sloping pitches, inadequate car park and potholed access track.
