MORE than 20 activities and groups are being made available to Whitehill and Bordon residents at the town’s Prince Phillip Barracks, the Garrison Gym and at other nearby facilities.

And the number of activities continues to grow with more being introduced each week.

The Garrison Pool has regular aqua aerobics and swimming lessons.

A sports hall on site offers netball, five-a-side football and other indoor sports, and there is a new building providing meeting rooms and sports clubs. The Coffee Pot Cafe holds a range of community events for residents of all ages.

The Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company community team is also looking at offering residents tae kwon do, roller hockey, petanque, physiotherapy and more.

In addition to day-to-day activities, regular large events are held in the barracks’ grounds, including a monthly themed market, roller discos and sports events.

Naomi Metcalfe, community development officer from the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company which is developing the barracks for housing and a new town centre, said: “It is fantastic to have so many local groups involved in providing a vast range of activities for local residents to join and enjoy. We want Whitehill and Bordon to lead the way in providing social and wellbeing activities and facilities in this region and it is great to see the number of activities continue to grow.”
