THE Liberal Democrats were left to nurse their wounds this week after the party suffered its most humiliating showing at the polls in Waverley Borough Council's history.

In an extraordinary election, the Conservatives stomped to victory in all but one borough council ward and two town council wards, incidentally both in Farnham, winning 66.5 per cent of the borough vote.
