HAMPSHIRE libraries are reaching out to combat loneliness.
The Hampshire Library Service offers a free home library service to those who find it difficult to access their local library due to health issues, mobility problems or caring responsibilities.
Trained volunteers are matched with members of their own communities, and can deliver a wide range of library materials, including large-print books, audio books, reminiscence-collection items and specialist books like titles designed for those with dementia.
“At Bordon Library, we have a lovely team of volunteers and are actively seeking local residents for them to visit,” lead home library service co-ordinator Nicolette Morgan said.
Volunteers visit their customers usually once a month with friendships formed through the service.
