LIPHOOK villagers got on their bikes for a dress rehersal of the LiBDA bike rride on June 10. Ten members of LiDBA took to their bikes on May 20, to try out the route on a glorious sunny Sunday morning wearing their bright yellow T shirts. All made it round the very picturest course, ranging from one to just over two hours. As a reminder, one member had not checked out his bike but for fear of missing the ride, Robin Cycles of Bordon kindly donated a bike so that he could achieve his best ever time. Organisers are keen to ensure their bikes were safe and functional to be able to enjoy the ride and Owen Cycles amongst others were on hand in case of a blow out. Motorists, are reminderd that Liphook Square will be closed to all traffic from just before 10am on Sunday June 10 for approximately 20 minutes to allow the anticipated 1,000-plus riders to leave Bohunt School and make their way along the old A3 to Rake. So far there have been 578 registered riders to date and they are still being accepted. Yellow posters have been placed in shops, pubs and clubs who are supporting the event and they will have copies of the entry forms. Organiser Neil Macara said: "This is a chance to take part in the area's biggest fund, with empasis on the fun-draising day and make a difference to help others." Because of the numbers taking part LiDBA are in need of some volunteer marshals to ensure the day runs smoothly and is a great success. If anyone is free on the June 10, they are asked to email [email protected]">[email protected] or leave a message on 01730 894774 and the organisers will call you back.
