A CELEBRATION of Jesus as ‘The Light of the World’ was held by Camelsdale Primary School, with its traditional Christingle services in St Paul’s Church.
Pupils enjoyed making their Christingles in the morning with the help of the Camelsdale Parent Teacher Assocation and the infant service focused on building the Nativity crib, while the junior service centred on the retelling of the Christmas story through lessons and songs.
Headteacher Sarah Palmer said: “Our Christingle services are always a lovely way to end the term with a reminder of the Christmas story after a fortnight of Christmas plays, pantomimes and parties.
“Miss Robinson, the school’s specialist music teacher, worked with all the children to provide a rich variety of songs and music and a collection was held at the end of the services for The Children’s Society charity.
“We would like to wish everyone connected to our school a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2017. Our school thrives on community spirit and Camelsdale would very much like to thank everyone for their huge support in 2016.”
