WITH Easter now behind us Farnham Lions are gearing up for their August 25 charity golf day at Hindhead Golf Club.
This will be the Lions’ 20th event, all of which have been held at the magnificent Hindhead course, rated 36th in the list of all clubs in England.
Geoff Jeal, chairman of Lions golf day committee, told The Herald the Lions jealously guard the special relationship that exists between the two clubs that has been created by mutual respect and understanding over the years.
Similar relationship exists between Lions and their principal sponsor, Farnham accountancy firm Wise & Co, now in its ninth year of sponsorship.

The 2016 event will support Challengers, with its largest centre in Farnham, where it provides inclusive play and leisure for disabled children and young people across this part of Surrey.
In total Challengers delivered 138,000 hours of activity for 1,330 children across Farnham, Guildford and smaller local centres.
Challengers’ commitment is never to exclude any child or young person and works towards providing fun and leisure experience in a positive, intelligent and non-institutional environment.
Since its first golf day in 1997, Farnham Lions have raised more than £115,000 and is hoping this year to bring the total towards the £125,000 mark.
Farnham Lions are delighted that so much local support for this event continues, with some entrants having played in more than 15 events since the beginning.
