FARNHAM Lions pulled out all the stops to make sure the club’s annual Elderly Persons Party was one to remember.
More than 70 guests, many of them chauffeured there and back, enjoyed the event at Crondall Village Hall. They were welcomed with a glass of sherry and a three course dinner with wine and tea and cupcakes made by Jenny Hicks were served at the end.
After lunch entertainment was provided by singing duo Nigel and Altay, followed by brother and sister dancers Mark and Katie Nourse, who gave a demonstration of Latin and ballroom dancing. Proceeds from the raffle held will be donated to the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.
Farnham club president Barbara Wright thanked the organising team led by Elaine Chapman, the entertainers and Clarks Caterers Ltd of Farnborough.
“It was a wonderful afternoon and enjoyed by all,” she said “For many of our guests it’s a rare opportunity to leave their homes and enjoy the company of others.”
