Every parent knows the stress of getting their child a new pair of school shoes. Now imagine you cannot afford to buy them. Or if you do, the shoes just fall apart. 

That is the reality a whole school of Kenyan children face every day, but thanks to the generosity of Liphook residents 19 pairs of shoes have made their way onto some very grateful feet. 

Kerrieanne Cartwright Forbes works for Adventure Life Signs in Tongham – the company offers safe, educational and life-changing experiences to groups in the UK and abroad. 

While she on one of these expeditions, a school asked Kerrieanne for shoes. 

After putting a request on the Liphook Community Board, Kerrieanne was inundated.

She said: “Just goes to show the power of social media. Suddenly my bag was filled with 19 pairs of shoes. People are already offering to knit hats for the maternity unit at the hospital attached to the school. It is so amazing.”
