THE recently-published Liss village design statement has raised a storm of protest from traders, who say its proposals to pedestrianise part of the village centre could put them out of business.

But the core group which prepared the design statement says the proposals have been in the public domain since last autumn and they are only proposals – they are not part of those recently accepted by East Hampshire district council as supplementary planning guidance.
