LISS moved up to fifth place in the Premier Division with another win on Tuesday night. They welcomed back 'hot' striker Steve Harding from suspension, but were otherwise unchanged.

The 'Tractor Boys' took the lead midway through the first half when the Liss offside trap backfired badly.

This woke Liss up and they created many chances in an entertaining spell, Paul Jays finally equalising after being put through by Ricky Long.

As in recent games, Liss proved to be far stronger in the second half and should have had a penalty when Jays was brought down.

Unperturbed, they deservedly took the lead on the hour when Harding pulled the ball back for Richie McCann to score.

Liss were creating numerous chances and, unusually, Harding failed when clean through on goal. Waltham finally got back into the game and were gifted an equaliser by some woeful defending. And they could have taken the lead had it not been for timely interventions from both 'keeper Andy Glasspool and Sean Noble.

The last 20 minutes was mostly one-way traffic, with the visitors strugging against the pace of Rayner and Jays. Harding added a third and Jon Noble curled in a 30-yarder for good measure.
