LOCAL campaigners have challenged district planning policy by pointing out that "listing is not crucial to the future of Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital."
The Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital Company believes East Hampshire District Council has an obligation to protect all local buildings of historical and architectural interest and, with this in mind, has proposed that, in the event of Treloar's not being listed, a representative group of planning officers, council members, and local people with appropriate expertise should be formed to assess what Treloars is worth in terms of local heritage.
