YOUNGSTERS have helped keep the beach at Frensham Great Pond clean by taking part in a litter pick.

School council and plastics committee members at St Mary’s Infant School, Frensham, did their bit and were “very keen to help” on April 23, when they cleared up after Easter weekend visitors.

Countryside ranger Darren Hill visited St Mary’s and spoke to pupils during an assembly about the problems of litter on the common, especially after sunny bank holidays.

The school is also currently working towards becoming plastic free as far as possible, in conjunction with Surfers Against Sewage.
