PRIDE in Alton increased with the launch of the Alton Ambassadors on Tuesday.

Ten volunteers will be out on market days and Saturdays to pick up litter, campaign to make Alton plastic free and promote the town.

Alton Town Council community committee chair Cllr Ginny Boxall’s initiative was launched by Alton town mayor Cllr Pam Jones with help from Adam Cassidy, ten, of Anstey Junior School, and Jago Rodger, eight, of Andrews’ Endowed CE Primary School.

Best-kept awards will go to firms keeping frontages free of litter. To take part email [email protected]
