THERE will be a very special New Year's Eve party in one Farnham household this year – as the French family celebrate the end of more than three years of gruelling cancer treatment for their five-year-old son Haydan.

Haydan has spent more than half his young life taking daily treatments for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. But all that comes to end on December 31 when the youngster can look forward to a new year in which he doesn't have to undergo daily oral chemotherapy, weekly blood tests and monthly intravenous chemo sessions.

To add an extra sparkle to the occasion Haydan has had his extraordinary courage recognised with a special award from Cancer Research UK.
